1961 - The opening of the Aberdeen Caritas Social Centre and the Tsuen Wan Social Centre

Aberdeen Caritas Social Centre officially opened by His Excellency Sir Robert Black, Governor of Hong Kong. It became the first service centre and the beginning of vocational education in the Catholic Social Welfare Bureau. In the same year, the Tsuen Wan Social Centre was set up. Initially, the centre only provided recreational activities for youth and training for adults.

.Caritas Aberdeen Social Centre provided accommodation for people with disabilities and hearing impairments.


.The Centre also provided job skills training.


.On 28 May 1962, the Centre officially opened by His Excellency Sir Robert Black, Governor of Hong Kong.


.Tsuen Wan Social Centre provided factory workers with hostel services, day nursery and family services. The Centre also provided children from working families with welfare and recreational facilities.
