2018 - Opening of Caritas Jockey Club Tsuen Wan Social Service Building

Caritas established a diversified service centre in Tsuen Wan as early as 1962, serving the vulnerable communities and grassroots families in the area. The new building not only provided holistic care services for young children, the elderly, people with disabilities, grassroots families, and underprivileged communities, but also developed into a “community hubs” that encouraged service users from different backgrounds and ages to support each other, actively participate, and built an inclusive community based on mutual assistance.

Do you know?

Tsuen Wan Social Centre has been rooted in the Tsuen Wan community for over 60 years, providing diversified services to low-income individuals, newly arrived immigrants, single parents, ethnic minorities, and other grassroots families and vulnerable communities. However, in response to social changes, the demand for social services from vulnerable communities continues to increase, and the old centre, in terms of space and facilities, was unable to meet the service needs of social development and the aging population in the future. Therefore, Caritas planned to rebuild the old building and construct a new service building of ten floors with five service units on the original site, in order to serve more individuals.
